DENTAL XRAY PETERBOROUGH

Dentists can find out a lot from examining your teeth, but not everything is visible even the trained eye.

By taking an x-ray of your mouth, your dentist can get a better overall picture of your teeth, jaws and other structures.

This aids them to diagnose problems with greater accuracy and to plan evidence based treatments.

Why Choose X-rays with us?

Dental x-rays use a very small amount of radiation.

If you’re worried about how this might affect your body and you want to know if x-rays are safe for you or your children, your dentist will explain what the procedure involves and let you know if it’s really necessary.

At Peterborough Dental Hub we use the latest technology.

Our x-ray machines are very modern and provides 50% the radiation compared to other Xray machines and provides a better contrasted image.

The radiation dose received by our patients is shown on the screen after each exposure. The technology used in our practices avoids risk of over exposing as well as unnecessary re-takes.

Our digital x-rays are very safe and provides minimal exposure to adults, pregnant women and children.

X-rays allow your dentist to see what’s happening under the surface and in between your teeth.

Your tooth may look ok from the surface and yet it’s health is being compromised from the inside. Our Xray machines will show any recurrent decay underneath old fillings.

Dental Xray Peterborough

why X-ray is important?

If the cavity is bigger than expected it may have already reached the nerve of the tooth.

If it has already reached the nerve root canal treatment will need to be completed.

X-rays also allow us to be able to detect holes that are starting in-between the teeth that are not visible to the dentist in the mouth.

This means that a filling can be completed before the cavity gets bigger in size.

X-rays not only show holes but also the level of your bone around your teeth, this is important as gum disease effects the bone supporting the teeth.

If gum disease is detected on the x-rays it makes it easier to be able clean all the plaque that is causing the bone to shrink away.
